We are happy to introduce you to our organization. Howrah South Point has been working to improve the lives of communities in North and South Bengal for more than 35 years. Our facilities are located mainly near Kolkata and Jalpaiguri.

The Department of Disability Affairs of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, has awarded Howrah South Point in the category ‘OUTSTANDING WORK IN THE CREATION OF BARRIER – FREE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES’. The award has been conferred by His Excellency the President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 3rd December, 2013.

National Award

The Department of Disability Affairs of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, has awarded Howrah South Point in the category ‘OUTSTANDING WORK IN THE CREATION OF BARRIER – FREE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES’. The award has been conferred by His Excellency the President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 3rd December, 2013.


World Disabled Day Celebration

3rd December, 2013:- The occasion and the celebration were graced with the presence of the Honorable Governor of West Bengal, Mr. M.K. Narayanan as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present were, The Archbishop of Calcutta Diocese, Rev. Thomas D’Souza; the Jesuit Provincial, Fr. J. Veluswamy, S.J; the German Consul general; the French Consul; the MLA, Mr. Sital Sardar; the MP, Mr. Prasun Bannerjee and our own Fr. Francis Laborde who despite of his ill health was present at Ashaneer to witness the joy and celebration of the differently able and talented children nurtured in Howrah South Point established by him.
